Fliess in Tyrol
Fliess in Tyrol: History of thousands of years and a wonderful present.
Already 2,000 years before Emperor Augustus built his formidable street to Fliess and further to Trient and Verona, this place on its sunny plateau of the Venet was already a busy ritual site.
Already 2,000 years before Emperor Augustus built his formidable street to Fliess and further to Trient and Verona, this place on its sunny plateau of the Venet was already a busy ritual site.
This has been proven by a large number of finds from the Bronze Age. The alter including ash hill and festival ground at Piller Sattel - approx. 300 altitude above Hotel Fliesserhof, a burnt-offering location of the La-Tene-time at "Gachen Blick", the second oldest ever found metallic helmet (the oldest was found in Knossos, Crete), the entire gear of a great chieftain at the Mossbruckschrofen, a lot of jewellery, tools, weapons and other archaeological sensations can be admired in the Fliess area. And there are also interesting stories from the time of the Romans, mediaeval fortress, old churches, visions of Alois Simon Maass, Priest from Fliess ... here in Fliess, Tyrol, you can immerse yourself into history, culture and myths during your holiday ... and beyond. And you would love to do that, but then there is also probably the most beautiful panoramic mountain (Aifnerspitze), a fantastic nature park (Naturpark Kaunergrat), many biological wonders (for example the high moors at Piller or the famous Fliess terraced hills with its 1,400 (!) different butterfly species), idyllic mountain lakes (e.g. Schadiger Weiher), tennis courts, adventure outdoor pools and so much more... And naturally there also numerous holiday attractions for your summer holiday and winter holiday in the holiday region western Tyrol, in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, in Kaunertal ... the holidays will seem far too short to experience everything. You should, however, definitely make a start of it! Absolutely!
